Cyber-criminals’ black market
There are many things being sold in cybercrime black markets, from financial records to hacking tools and services. In December last year, a mass information involved data belonging to up to 110 million individuals was stolen from Target, the third-largest U.S. retailer. The information shortly became available for purchase on black market websites.
While 900 social insurance numbers were taken from Canada Revenue Agency earlier this month by by cyber-criminals exploiting the HeartBleed vulnerability.
A new study conducted by Rand Corporation showed that cybercrime black and grey markets are increasingly sophisticated and become to involve with narcotic and international terrorist network. It was estimated that cybercrime black and grey markets have become more lucrative than narcotic market.
